Birthday Party

Scooter's 5th birthday party was this past Saturday. We learned our lesson from prior years, and dispensed with the structured activities, competitive games, and oh yes, Chuck E. Cheese.

Instead, we had Scooter and several of his friends over for two hours of five-year-old mayhem. A few balloons provided a solid 45 minutes of entertainment, as well as Scooter showing off his (small) collection of computer games. The one planned activity lasted perhaps five minutes.

The most gratifying part was watching Scooter play host, making sure all his friends had fun, and nobody got left out. He also thanked everyone for the presents, without being asked (much).

Considering how terrible his "Terrible Twos" were, this is proof positive that children do, in fact, learn.
